Our Story

Elite Tree Service Greenville was founded in 2006 by a second-generation Upstate arborist who grew up climbing the same loblollies and white oaks his crews work on today. What started as a single truck and a borrowed chipper has grown — carefully and slowly — into one of the most trusted tree care companies in Greenville County, with a full fleet, a TRAQ-qualified estimator, and a team of climbers and ground crew who treat every property like it's their own.

We never set out to be the biggest tree company in the Upstate. We set out to be the one homeowners refer their neighbors to without hesitation — the one HOAs renew with year after year, the one builders call first on tight schedules. After 19 years and more than 900 trees removed (plus thousands more pruned, cabled, and inspected), we think we've done that.

What Makes Us Different

Three things. First: real insurance. We carry $2,000,000 in general liability and full South Carolina workers' compensation. Most cheaper operators carry one or neither, exposing you to liability for any injury on your property. We provide certificates of insurance listing your address as additional insured before any work starts.

Second: ANSI A300 standards. Every cut we make follows the American National Standards Institute's published best practices for tree care. That means no topping, no flush cuts, no over-pruning. The trees we touch are healthier, not damaged.

Third: written, itemized quotes. Every estimate is in writing, broken out by line item, and held for 30 days. No verbal handshake pricing. No 'while we're here' upcharges. The number we quote is the number you pay.

Our Team

Our climbers are full-time employees, drug-tested, and trained in modern arboriculture — not subcontracted day labor. Our lead estimator holds the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), the gold standard for hazard tree evaluation in the United States. Our ground crew is cross-trained on every piece of equipment we run, from compact stump grinders to 100-ton cranes for over-the-house lifts.

Community & Storm Response

We've responded to every major Upstate weather event since 2006 — the 2014 ice storm, multiple summer microburst seasons, and Hurricane Helene in 2024. We treat storm response as a community obligation, not a price-gouging opportunity. Our pricing during storm events is the same as our pricing the week before.
