What's Included in Our Reports
Every assessment includes a site visit, photographs of each evaluated tree, a written narrative for each tree of concern, a risk matrix rating (low / moderate / high / extreme) per ISA standards, and specific recommendations: monitor, prune, cable, or remove. For HOAs and property managers, we deliver a portfolio-style report with a prioritized action plan and budget estimates.
- βLevel 1 (walk-by) visual screening for large properties
- βLevel 2 (detailed) ground-based assessment per ISA Best Management Practices
- βLevel 3 (advanced) including resistance drilling or sonic tomography where indicated
- βWritten report with photos, risk ratings, and recommendations
- βExpert witness and deposition support available
When You Need a Formal Assessment
You need a formal assessment when stakes go beyond your own peace of mind β when a tree's condition will be the subject of an insurance claim, a real estate transaction, an HOA budget vote, an easement dispute, or litigation. A written report from a qualified assessor carries weight that a verbal opinion does not.
We're also called for pre-purchase tree inspections on Upstate properties with significant mature canopy, where a buyer wants to understand the future tree-care liability before closing.
The TRAQ Framework
Tree Risk Assessment Qualification is the International Society of Arboriculture's standardized methodology for evaluating tree risk. It accounts for three independent factors: likelihood of failure, likelihood of impacting a target, and consequence of impact. A dead 80-foot pine in the back of an unused 40-acre tract is low risk despite being a clear failure candidate, because there's no target. The same tree leaning toward a child's bedroom window is extreme risk. TRAQ gives us a defensible framework to communicate that distinction in writing.
