How much does tree removal cost in Greenville, SC?
Most Greenville tree removals fall between $450 and $2,800 depending on size, access, and complexity. Crane-required removals over structures can reach $3,500. Every quote is free, written, and itemized.
Are you licensed and insured in South Carolina?
Yes — $2,000,000 general liability and full SC workers' comp. We provide a COI naming your address as additional insured before any work begins.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency tree service?
Yes — true 24/7 emergency response with on-site arrival within 90 minutes (daylight) or 3 hours (overnight) across the Upstate.
What's the difference between trimming and pruning?
Industry standard term is 'pruning' under ANSI A300. 'Trimming' is the consumer term; we use them interchangeably.
Why is topping bad for trees?
Topping creates weakly-attached water sprouts, decay pockets at heading cuts, and dramatically shortens tree life. Reduction pruning is the correct alternative.
When should I prune oaks in the Upstate?
Outside the April–July beetle season to avoid oak wilt. Late fall through early spring is ideal.
Will tree work damage my lawn?
We use mats under heavy equipment, rope-lower large limbs, and rake-and-blow the entire work zone before we leave. Any unavoidable damage is repaired.
Do you grind the stump after removal?
Stump grinding is a separately quoted add-on. Most customers bundle it with removal for a discount.
How deep do you grind stumps?
Standard 6–10 inches below grade. Deeper available on request for replanting or hardscape.
What happens to the wood?
Default: chipped and hauled off. Optional: trunks bucked into firewood and left on-site at no extra charge.
How fast can you schedule non-emergency work?
Most residential jobs book within 5–10 business days. Storm season can extend this slightly.
Do you serve commercial properties and HOAs?
Yes — annual maintenance agreements, COI compliance through EXIGIS/Compliance Depot, and storm-priority dispatch.
Will my homeowners insurance cover storm tree removal?
Tree-on-structure removal is typically covered up to your policy limit (often $500–$1,500). We document everything for your adjuster.
Can a tree on a power line be removed by you?
Energized lines are utility-jurisdiction. Call Duke Energy (800-769-3766) first; once confirmed de-energized, we'll handle the wood.
Do you cable or brace heritage trees?
Yes — ANSI A300-standard cabling and bracing with annual inspections. Common on heritage oaks and tulip poplars.
Can you write a formal tree risk assessment?
Yes — ISA TRAQ-qualified written reports for homeowners, HOAs, attorneys, and insurance.
What payment methods do you accept?
Check, all major credit cards, and ACH. Net-30 terms available for commercial accounts.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — every quote is free, written, itemized, and held for 30 days. No deposit required to schedule.
Do you clear lots for new construction?
Yes — selective or full clearing, brush mulching, stump removal, and erosion control coordination.
What if I'm outside the Greenville city limits?
We serve all of Greenville County plus Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens, Laurens, and surrounding communities — call us if unsure.
Can I plant a new tree where the old stump was?
Best to plant 4–6 feet away, or replace grindings with topsoil. Wood chips tie up nitrogen as they decompose.
Do you remove invasive species like privet and kudzu?
Yes — forestry mulching handles privet, kudzu, English ivy, wisteria, and tree-of-heaven efficiently.
